Ferny fronds ...

A mass of colour, shades of greens and browns in the changing light.  A swathe of elegant fronds gently swaying in the autumn breeze.  Sunlight shining through the translucent greenery, highlighting the heaps of indusium on the underside, protecting the precious spores hidden within.  Nature at work.  A force looking after her own, something not to be messed with.  Protecting, making sure that life and its' beauty will go on.  Go on to survive and delight.

Letting go ...

It's been far too long since I've had time to blog anything.  I must apologise.  It's not that I don't have ideas, I do, autumn leaves, majestic ferns and November surprises that may shock you to the bone (well they did me!).  But more pressing things, little Kiki was neutered and is now allowed to go outside!  She has only taken a few baby steps into the garden, just an hour each day, but it seems to be enough to keep her happy and make her sleep for the rest of the day!  Inside the house she seems huge, but seeing her outside, she is a tiny ball of fluff.  Watching her playing is both wonderful and heartbreaking.  I just keep watching with my heart in my mouth, thinking of the busy road, but she's getting to be a big girl now and I can't keep hold of her.

Just a few snapshots, I like the one of her jumping for a fly (the bottom of the pole is the ground).  Apologies for the lack of quality in the photographs and the state of the garden.  We are in the middle of autumn clearing.
