Lisa's lovely natural solutions ...

I love my job and I love my clients.  Particularly when they present me with a load of beautiful pots, jars, flowers, an old wooden chair and lots of lovely natural products!  Throw in a lovely bit of sunshine, some puppies wandering around and what a perfect photography job!  One of the best things about this job is just how lovely the products are, so not only do I have a great time shooting them but I actually want to endorse them and their creator, the lovely Lisa

Lisa makes each one of her organic products and aren't they just beautiful?  Biodegradable, no animal testing, a natural and simple skin care that anyone can use.  As if the pretty pots and divine inky blue glass bottles weren't draw enough?!  I couldn't resist getting a few items myself and think that they are wonderful.  A natural product that isn't sticky, leaves you feeling soft and is delicately scented.  The Honey and Beeswax lip balm is divine!  It really does make your lips kissable (come on Colin Farrell, I'm ready!) and beautifully soft and glossy.

To find out more about LJ's Natural Solutions or order some for yourself (they also make wonderful presents too) just visit Lisa's website.  Look out for the new product photographs going up on the website too in the next week or so.

A study in trunks ...

Tree trunks obviously!  I know what you were all thinking but please, this is a nature blog!

I've been thinking a lot lately about my style of photography and where I am going with it.  I have discovered that I love capturing images in an unobtrusive kind of way.  I like to look and think, to observe quietly and to show off all the details in a quiet, understated fashion.  Colours and shape are key, while pretty light is the cherry on top.

Snow, slate quarries and Dr Who ...

Let me take you on a little walk around my village.  We finally have had a dusting of snow and some beautifully clear, bright days.  If only it had been like this over the Christmas / New Year holiday!  Never mind, it is here now (and we're set to have a fabulously snowy weekend!).  I managed to take a quick break from writing yesterday and build up my Winter Collection of photographs.

I think the photograph (above, left) is my favourite of the day.  Isn't that tree silhouette just beautiful?  Getting out for a walk does wonders for the mind.  Not only do you get some fresh air and beautiful scenes, ideas start whirling around like tiny snowflakes.

The area is full of slate quarries, I guess most of Snowdonia is a large slate quarry, and I think it is rather lovely (particularly under a dusting of snow).  That may be controversial.  Most people will think they are ugly and just a mass of dull grey clogging up the view.  Look more closely, the tips are teeming with life.  In amongst the dreary grey backdrop are tiny bursts of green, dotted here and there.  Things are found in all different shapes and sizes, from a star-shaped tiny moss to the oak sapling, and colours.  Colour matches and clashes are the real beauties of the area.  There must be something here, I do believe that even the Doctor himself paid us a visit in years gone by.  I'm still waiting for him to come back.
